Alondra Camarena, BS
Alondra Camarena is a post-baccalaureate intern with the UCSF Breast Care Center (BCC) Internship Program. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2024 with a B.A. in Public Health and a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology. At the BCC, she serves as coordinator for the Patient Support Corps, a patient scribing program that supports patients during appointments by providing notes and a recording of the visit, which is shared with them afterward. In addition, Alondra works as a research assistant on several projects, including a genetic testing decision study at the Veteran’s Affairs and research in radiation oncology with Dr. Lisa Singer.
Her research interests focus on health equity and implementation science, particularly addressing barriers to care for Spanish speaking patients, individuals with disabilities, and communities affected by environmental health disparities. She is currently in her post-bacc gap years before applying to medical school and aspires to become a physician serving San Joaquin County.
