Chase Owens is a current fourth-year medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, TN. He completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, where he double majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Psychology. Prior to starting his medical education, Chase took a gap year during which time he worked as a COVID-19 tester and tennis coach. Throughout medical school, Chase has been actively involved in research, leadership, and service. He has contributed to several research projects within the field of oncology, served on his class council as a member of the professionalism committee, and volunteered weekly at a free health clinic, where he held multiple leadership roles. He is currently applying for residency in internal medicine. Chase’s career interests include pursuing a fellowship in hematology/oncology and one day practicing academic medicine, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing health equity.
