Fen Xia, MD, PhD, FASTRO is Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her clinical expertise is in the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) cancers. A physician-scientist, Dr. Xia’s research investigates the molecular mechanisms of DNA damage response and repair, with a focus on how dysregulation drives genomic instability, tumor resistance, and normal tissue injury from radiation and systemic therapy.

Dr. Xia has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is a Fellow of ASTRO. She is also a dedicated mentor, having guided numerous PhD students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty toward successful careers as independent physician-scientists.
