Julie Constanzo, PhD
Dr. Constanzo currently serves as Assistant Professor (CRCN) at INSERM under Dr. J-P Pouget in the Radiobiology for Targeted and Personalized Radiotherapy group in Montpellier, France. Her international experience includes positions as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Michigan in the Department of Radiation Oncology in Ann Arbor, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Radiobiology at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. Dr. Constanzo's research focuses on elucidating radiobiological mechanisms that explain dose-response relationships in terms of both therapeutic efficacy and toxicity. Her ultimate goal is to improve patient selection by identifying optimal responders and those at risk of adverse effects. Her work extends beyond direct radiation effects to explore non-targeted effects mediated by intercellular communication through extracellular vesicles, with particular emphasis on the immune system's role in radiopharmaceutical therapeutic responses. A significant aspect of her current work involves leading the IMMUNORIV project (www.immunoriv.fr), which evaluates radiation-induced immunomodulation in patients receiving radiopharmaceutical treatments, demonstrating her commitment to translating research findings into clinical applications.
