Kayla Steed, MD, PhD

Dr. Steed is a resident physician at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received both her MD and PhD in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her basic science research interests include epigenetic reprogramming in cancer. Her dissertation research was focused in epigenetic reprogramming in triple-negative breast cancer cells using HDAC and DNMT inhibitors. She will be engaging in epigenetic reprogramming studies in glioblastoma during her residency. Dr. Steed also has interests in clinical research and is currently working on a project in adaptive partial breast irradiation and breast SBRT.
