Maria Dimopoulos, PhD, MBA, RT(T) is an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, New York, where she also serves as Associate Director for the Center for Radiation Sciences Education across the Mount Sinai Health System. Her role spans education, clinical support, and research in Radiation Oncology. She is recognized nationally for her contributions to advancing the professional development of the radiation therapy and medical dosimetry workforce and promoting international collaboration in radiation sciences. Dr. Dimopoulos serves as Chair and Chapter Delegate of the ASRT Radiation Therapy Chapter and leads the ASRT Foundation Research Grants and Advisory Panel. She is also co-founder of the Radiation Therapy Association of New York State. Her research interests include virtual reality, rapid plan, sensitive practice, and harnessing non-traditional pathways. She earned her PhD in Health Professions Leadership and Education from Pacific University, an MBA in Healthcare from Simmons University, and completed her radiation therapy education at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She also chairs the US APRT Working Group Education Committee, spearheading national initiatives to define the educational structure for advanced practice radiotherapy.
