Dr. Ruirui Liu is currently an Assistant Professor of Medical Physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He earned a B.E. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Chengdu University of Technology in 2007 and obtained his Ph.D. in Radiation Health Physics from Oregon State University in 2017. After completing his Ph.D., he pursued postdoctoral research in medical physics at Washington University in St. Louis. Before joining UNMC as a faculty member in 2023, he completed a three-year Medical Physics Residency Program at Emory University for clinical training and research development. Dr. Liu has published 35 papers in peer-reviewed journals, one book chapter, and over 50 abstracts and conference proceedings. He has extensive research experience in advanced dose calculation engine development, computational radiation biology, radiation transport, and radiation protection.
