Yoonsuk Huh, PhD
Yoonsuk Huh, PhD, is a medical physicist and research fellow at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Seoul National University Hospital. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, where he developed depth-encoding PET detectors and PET-MRI performance enhancement techniques using G-APDs and Monte Carlo simulations. He spent over a decade at Samsung Electronics as a senior engineer, where he led simulation-based design and verification of diagnostic imaging systems including X-ray tubes, CT detectors, and scatter correction algorithms. His work involved integrating CAD and DICOM data into Geant4 for physics-based validation and optimizing imaging hardware performance in high-performance computing environments. During his postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF, he specialized in radionuclide therapy dosimetry, CZT-based SPECT system modeling, and dynamic cardiac SPECT imaging with motion correction. His current research focuses on translating Monte Carlo-based dose simulation and advanced image reconstruction methods into clinical radiotherapy workflows, including patient-specific modeling and dosimetric quality assurance.
